The product team of Hey I’m Here was formed on the University of Alabama campus in the spring of 2020 with the goal of creating a mobile android application that can automate many common text messaging activities. It makes use of an internal database to store drafts of messages to be sent based on user defined rules. These rules will allow a user to send messages based on time, location, or a combination of the two. Why put your life at risk and text and drive when the app can simply text for you. Why go through the effort of letting people know when your flight has landed when your phone has done that for you.
Autonomous messaging will allow our users to create a draft of a message, select who to send it to, and attatch rules to the message. Upon fufilling the conditions set by the rules, the message will be sent with no further interaction required from the user. Whether you need a message to be sent at a certain time, or if you need a message to be sent upon your arrival at a certain place, the Hey I'm Here application exceeds expectations.
In addition to sending automated messages, the app also serves as a general purpose SMS client, letting you read and send messages, or view your contacts, just like any other text messaging app. To protect your privacy, the app also sends as little information as possible to 3rd parties.
